Mostly Wind Again Today

Above graphic shows the NWS wind-related advisories for today - from their web page.

The early WRF-NAM forecast from Atmo for 10-m winds at 4 pm MST this afternoon (above) indicates strongest winds over the higher terrain of southeast Arizona. The model forecasts strongest winds over the New Mexico boot heel, centered on the Animas Mountains. At 7 am this morning west winds were already quite brisk along the Rillito Wash, making for a chilly walk.

The WRF-NAM forecasts only light radar echoes moving across eastern Pima County before midnight - graphic below is forecast of composite radar echoes valid at 10 pm MST. The model forecasts light precipitation to occur only on the highest peaks of southeastern Arizona.
