Short Wave At 500 mb Across Southern Arizona Tuesday Night

A fairly sharp and cold short wave at 500 mb will be crossing southern Arizona tomorrow night. Above is this morning's NAM 500 mb forecast valid at 2 am on Thursday morning, indicating fairly decent vorticity advection across the Tucson area. The early WRF-NAM forecasts from Atmo indicate that a band of light showers will will accompany this feature (composite radar echoes forecast for 11 pm MST tomorrow night shown below). The WRF forecast of precipitation through 6 am on Thursday morning (bottom) indicates only very light and scattered rainfall reaching the ground. Will definitely be cooler tomorrow and Thursday, with gusty west west winds. Will be interesting to see what tomorrow's WRF forecasts indicate with this feature. March ended up with measurable rainfall, here at house, only on the 1st when there was 0.41" - so 30 straight days now with no measurable rain.
