Another very pleasant morning at sunrise today - clear skies, no wind, and low here at house of 46 F.
Although the main focus is on the question of when will TUS high temperature reach or exceed 100 F, there will also be some gusty winds tonight and tomorrow. The 06 UTC WRF-GFS forecast of 10-m winds (above) is valid at 9:00 am MST tomorrow morning - indicating strong and gusty east winds over much of southern Arizona.
Same forecast for the skewT profile at Sonoita (below) is valid at 10:00 pm tonight. If the WRF forecasts verify, the Mt. Hopkins winds will increase by evening, with gusts of 50 to 60+ mph extending into tomorrow.
Other than that, May is definitely here.
