Groundhog Day 2022 leads to forecast of six weeks more winter - but down here there's hardly been any winter. Perhaps Phil's forecast means we'll see a bit of winter before 100 degree days return?
Where is Punxsutawney? It's northeast of Pittsburgh - see map above. Below is from about 7:00 am MST today - even though there was thin cirrus overcast, they say Phil saw his shadow - thus six more weeks of winter.
Bit of trivia: While Bill Murray was filming the movie, he was bitten three times and had to have a series of rabies shots.
