Sprinkles This Morning

Heavy clouds this morning over Catalinas, and some sprinkles in parts of metro area, including here at house.

The morning sounding for Tucson (TWC) above indicates dry conditions below 700 mb, with deep layer at or near saturation above. The 12z WRF-RR forecast sounding from Atmo (below - valid at 4:00 pm MST this afternoon) moistens lower levels and brings PW up to almost an inch (vs half an inch for sounding above).

Forecast plumes for QPF at airport are all over the place but do agree in forecasts of light amounts, with a focus on the afternoon time period today. Below is forecast from 12 UTC WRF-RR of total precipitation through noon tomorrow. Certainly not a big event, but at least some precipitation for southeastern Arizona. Amounts higher to our east and north to the White Mountains.
