End November/Start December
Wintry scenes this afternoon around 3:00 pm MST: Snow and hoarfrosted trees near Summerhaven on Mt. Lemmon above, and snowy Half Dome in Yosemite NP bottom.
Brief November summary: Additional showers around 1:00 pm yesterday brought total for November 30th and for month to 0.23". There was one day here with thunderstorms - early morning hours on the 30th. Only other thing of interest were the cold morning temperatures during much of the month. There were 15 days here at the house with lows in the 30s (vs one last November) and temperatures 30 to 32 F on 4 days (vs none last November).
The 12 UTC GEFS plumes for QPF are shown for the airport below. Although there is chance for light showers tomorrow, the GEFS indicates chances for a more significant event on 6th and 7th, as another Pacific trough approaches in the southern flow stream. Amounts shown range from 0.15 to 0.73" and the average is around half an inch.
The local Winterhaven Festival of Lights begins on the 8th, so the cold and damp weather appears to be right on time again this year.
