Buildups with sprinkle showers and virga over the Catalinas yesterday - above 4:43 pm MST and below 5:13 pm. As these drifted south away from the mountains we had some brief gusts to around 30 mph here at house.
Plot of detected CG flashes (above) for 24 hours ending at 0103 am today, June 2nd. Thunderstorm activity occurred over toward the New Mexico border, well northeast of Tucson.
This morning's sounding for TWC (above) is very dry, with deep residual boundary layers and just a touch of CAPE. Perhaps a repeat of yesterday, with mountain showers and some gusty outflows. The 06 UTC GEFS plumes for QPF at the airport (below) indicate very minimal chances for a sprinkle at airport through the weekend. Second below is forecast for total precipitation (from the 06 UTC WRF-GFS run at Atmo) is through 11:00 am on Saturday morning, the 5th. Very similar to the GEFS forecasts.
TS Bianca remains a weak tropical storm this morning - IR image below with disorganized structure and deep convection around part of the circulation well south of Baja. Bianca expected to continue westward with continued slow weakening.
