Hotter Than Hades Continues

Clear skies continue this morning over Arizona, as June blazes on. West view at 8:05 am MST from Sahuarita above, and view of San Francisco Peaks from Flagstaff at 8:15 am down at bottom (dirty lens really needs a cleaning).

Graphic above from NWS Tucson this morning regarding the heat through Thursday, and map of excessive heat warnings in effect today below.

The entire West has been devoid of thunderstorms for past several days - detected CG flashes for 24 hours ending at 2:03 am this early morning (above).

The GFS 500 mb forecast above is valid at 00 UTC on the 15th (5:00 pm on Monday) - very large and strong high with heights near 6000 m centered near the Four Corners. Precipitation forecast from now until same time on Monday below - another hot and dry weekend on tap. So it goes.
