Drier and more stable air dominated state-wide by yesterday afternoon, shutting down most thunderstorm activity. There were moderate buildups and some light showers around however. There were 10 sites that reported light rain amounts in the Pima County ALERT network yesterday, with Mt. Lemmon recording the only amount of significance at 0.39". We had a couple of windy outflows here at house, but no rain that I noticed. View above shows some nice shadowing on the Catalinas before sunset, and plot of CG flashes below (from Vaisala and Atmo for 24-hours ending at 11:00 pm MST last night) indicates little activity.
The blended PW analysis from CIRA at bottom is from 10 UTC this morning and paints values dropping below 1 inch across southeastern Arizona, with higher values still holding out in the lower Colorado River Basin. Looks like we can expect some nice, cooler mornings the next several days.
