Edited to add: From the NWS -

AT 1222 PM MST...THE TUCSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HIT 100 DEGREES FOR
THE FIRST TIME IN 2013. THE HISTORICAL AVERAGE FIRST OCCURRENCE DATE
IS MAY 26TH. HOWEVER SINCE 1980...THE AVERAGE FIRST OCCURRENCE DATE
 HAS BEEN MAY 19TH.

Meteorological Spring is over (March, April, May) and Summer has begun (June, July August). May has closed out here in Tucson without a day with a high temperature of 100 F or higher. So, it's a late start to the serious heat this year. Here at the house May rainfall was a scant 0.03" - making the three month total only 0.28" (the total for Spring 2012 was 0.81"). There was only one day at the house with a low temperature of <32 9="" days="" during="" entire="" f="" last="" p="" spring="" such="" the="" there="" were="" year="">
As this morning's NWS forecast (above) indicates, June is going to get off to a hot start.
