The last two thunderstorms here at the house occurred on Sunday afternoon the 8th at about 4:30 pm MST and yesterday afternoon (July 10th) at about 5:30 pm. A photo of the Sunday storm (looking north) is shown above and a photo of yesterday's storm is shown below (also looking north). The storms both formed in almost exactly the same place over the western Catalina Mountains. The Sunday storm moved westward and dissipated as it moved off the mountains. Yesterday's storm moved south-southwestward, as several more high-based storm cells developed over the metro area. We had a brief shower here at the house yesterday and got 0.01" of rain. So, the storms yesterday were able to move over lower elevations for the first time in a number of days.
