Cool In Rockies And Atlantic Becomes Active

The summer thunderstorm season remains, hopefully temporarily, belly-up here in the Southwest.

To our north-northeast it was a cool and frosty morning at many higher-elevation spots in Colorado and Wyoming - note the upper-20s in Yellowstone NP. The above surface plot from NCAR RAL is for about 1230 UTC this morning.

Out in the Atlantic, Tropical Storm Danny has formed. This morning's forecast from NHC (below) indicates that Danny will become a hurricane as it heads generally west-northwestward toward Puerto Rico.
