Quiet Day Over Southeastern Arizona

Was a quiet day over southeastern Arizona, with isolated thunderstorms mostly over the mountains during early to mid-afternoon. Widespread thunderstorm activity continues over western Mexico from central Sonora southward. Above graphic shows 12-hours of detected CG flashes (from Vaisala and Atmo) for period ending at 06 UTC today, August 3rd.

Values of PW over southern Arizona this morning are much diminished, ranging from about 30 mm to less than 25 mm. The weather word has shifted again to HOT. The WRF model forecasts push higher PW northward over the GoC during next several days, but keep deepest mT moisture out over the western part of Arizona. Certainly not a great start to August.

I will try to post a summary of July rainfall this afternoon or tomorrow morning - any inputs for this summary are quite welcome. Include amount for month and the location. Thanks.
