More snow along the Front Range today - May 1st 2013 along Boulder Creek shown above. Such events may be unusual, but they can bring significant precipitation amounts to the Front Range. The 1st week in May of 1978 I measured 30+ inches of very heavy snow in my backyard in Louisville, Colorado.
