First - this morning's sounding of focus is from Amarillo, Texas, with two strong, superadiabatic layers aloft. It is not clear whether wetbulbing is completely responsible or not, since the first bad data appear a bit similar to the previously posted Minneapolis sounding. It is clear that the SPC CAPE computations have been impacted by the bad sounding data, leading to more computed CAPE than is likely present.

Strong cutoff over the lower Colorado River Basin brought wind and dust to southeast Arizona. The dust, while still hanging in the air causing a diffuse sunrise this morning, was at it worst in the local area on Friday afternoon. It appeared that some areas, particularly south of Tucson, had visibilities down to about a mile or so. There were some convective showers or storms out to the northwest of Tucson late yesterday afternoon, much like the NAM model had forecast. The morning low at house this morning was a pleasantly cool 52F.
