Another Stormy Day From Plains To Southeast

Yesterday was another stormy day from the southern High Plains to the lower Midwest and Southeast - above is IR from 0115 UTC on the 8th of June. Note the MCS moving toward the Southeast. Graphic below from SPC showing severe thunderstorm and tornado reports.

More nocturnal thunderstorms and rains for Oklahoma and north Texas - above is 0715 UTC IR image on the 8th and below is regional radar (base scans) for the same time (a bit after 1 am CST). There was a large area of rotation that crossed southern Oklahoma behind and north of the more intense convective storms.

Finally, this morning's eastern Pacific outlook from NHC (below) indicates a moderate chance of tropical storm development with probabilities increasing to 80 percent through 5 days. The ECMWF model appears a bit more aggressive in the long term, as to how far north this tropical disturbance moves.
