Possible Impacts From Hurricane Cristina
Although the WRF forecasts show marked drying tomorrow due to west winds, we should keep watch down the GoC. The model hints at a quick return of moisture up the GoC Saturday night and Sunday morning. Cristina has moved further north than the early forecasts indicated, and will pass close enough to the southern end of Baja that it could trigger a Gulf Surge. Moisture is high and winds are already strong over the south half of the GoC. I'll be away most of tomorrow but will revisit this possibility tomorrow evening.
