Large MCS Over Gulf Of Mexico
There is large MCS over the GoM this morning - see IR image above from 1415 UTC. The CG flash detections (below for 12-hours ending at 6 am MST) indicate that the convective cores of the MCS have been moving rapidly north-northwestward up the coast, while a huge upper-level cloud shield trails off to the south.
