Geminids - Slightly Revised


Mostly cloudy at sunrise this morning - but sun peeking underneath made for some views of the Catalinas - above and at bottom.

Last night was the peak of the Geminid meteor shower. Mike Leuthold's one day loop provides a nice overview, with many meteors captured - as per above (from Mike). Below is from loop also, but I have no idea what that UFO-like thing is over the mountains. Any thoughts?

Still no prospects for precipitation through early in Christmas week (GEFS QPF plumes from 06 UTC last night - above). Lots of snow though in parts of the Northwest, as per this morning's view of the Grand Targhee stick of truth near Jackson, Wyoming (below).
