Chance For Showers

Few slivers of clouds over the Catalinas this morning, ahead of a developing chance for showers in our area. Currently snowing in north part of state at Flagstaff (bottom).

A digging 500 mb short wave over the Great Basin and central California (above in morning analysis and below in 7:30 am MST water vapor image) is headed our way. Second below shows the 12 UTC WRF-NAM 500 mb forecast valid at 12 UTC tomorrow morning - closed low has just passed by to our north and a trailing lobe is moving southward across Arizona.

Current forecast from NWS indicates highest likelihood of showers at airport during early to middle of night tonight. The WRF forecast for precipitation (from same run mentioned above) is below and indicates light precipitation amounts for lower elevations of eastern Pima County. Will hope for a bit more in the gauge tomorrow morning.
