Tornadoes In The Southeast

Only some high clouds around today. Yesterday's high was 73 F at the airport, but today is forecast to warm into the low 80s. View at bottom shows the LAX light pylons, with a FedEx jumbo on either take-off or landing roll.


Large tornado photographed yesterday near Silas, Alabama. Silas is south-southwest of Meridian, Mississippi, near the state line.


Yesterday morning's outlook (above) from SPC, with reported severe storms indicated. Note that all the tornadoes appear to have avoided the "High" risk area, indicating just how difficult it can be to specify where the greatest daily risk is. Activity today expected to focus in the Carolinas (below).
