There were isolated showers in the the northwestern portion of the metro area yesterday Above plot shows detected CG flashes for 24-hours ending at 0733 UTC last night. ALERT reports plotted below for 24-hours ending at 7:00 am - from Atmo and Vaisala. Nothing here at the house.
Ugly 500 mb pattern has anticyclone centered along northern California coast, with ridge extending southeastward into northwestern Mexico. The 12 UTC morning sounding from TWC/TUS (below) shows very dry and stable conditions.
Forecast for total rainfall through 5:00 pm on July 10th (below, from 06 UTC run of the WRF-GFS) shows continued dry conditions. Tucson NWS forecast indicates highs around 105 F, or a bit higher during this period. Not a good start to July!
