Plot of detected CG flashes (above, from Atmo and Vaisala) for 24-hours ending at 7:00 am this morning. Thunderstorms occurred mostly over western part of Pima County and also over the mountains.
Rainfall also occurred mostly west of the Interstates and also in far southern part of network. The airport reported wind gusts to 49 mph with thunder and 0.06" of rain; DM had thunder and a Trace; while there was no rain here or at Atmo.
The 500 mb analysis shows the anticyclone now centered near Amarillo, Texas, with southwest winds over Arizona. The TWC/TUS sounding continues missing, with no information provided on when these important data may return. This morning's forecast from the NWS for the airport is shown below.
