Pre-sunrise view looking toward the Rincons at 5:40 am MST this morning.
Plot of detected CG flashes (from Atmo and Vaisala - above) shows little activity across eastern Pima County, although there were some rumbles of thunder here.
Observations from the ALERT network (above and below) show only a few sites with rainfall through 7:00 am this morning. There was a brief sprinkle here during the late afternoon yesterday.
At 500 mb this morning (above from SPC) the anticyclone is now centered over southeast Texas, but with a long ridge extending westward across New Mexico and Arizona. This morning's sounding for TWC/TUS (below - from SPC) shows easterly winds aloft, with some high-based CAPE above 700 mb.
Current 12Z forecast from WRF-RR run at Atmo (above) shows very limited rainfall in eastern Pima County through midnight tonight. Current forecast from NWS for the airport shown below.
