Heavy Afternoon Storms

Beautiful, pre-sunrise sky early this morning. View at bottom shows heavy storm moving across parts of metro area at 4:05 pm MST yesterday.

ALERT rain amounts (above and below) are for 24-hours through 11:00 am this morning. Rains impacted mostly the eastern portion of the network. Not a drop here during the afternoon/evening.

Morning TUS/TWC sounding above continues very moist and similar to yesterday's, but with a bit better easterly steering flow. CAPE is very high, and I'd expect storms around later today - as per morning NWS forecast below.

However, we have dueling foreecasts with the 15Z WRF-RR (below) forecasting little activity across almost all of Pima County through tomorrow morning. However, the same run forecasts significant, and likely severe, storms across our area tomorrow (radar forecast at bottom valid at 6:00 pm on the 16th).
