Rain Band From Kay?

Hazy view of Catalinas at 8:00 am MST this morning.

Another storm-free day across southern Arizona and northern Mexico yesterday, as per plot (below - from Atmo and Vaisala) of detected CG flashes through 0103 am this morning. No flashes have occurred in association with TS Kay either.

The 500 mb chart this morning (above) shows Kay off northern Baja - Kay's remnants are expected to drift westward during the weekend.

Morning sounding (above for TWC/TUS) is most notable for its complete lack of CAPE. Above 500 mb conditions are saturated. Conditions will have to change considerably for the current NWS forecast (below) to verify.

However, the 12 UTC WRF-HRRR forecast for rainfall through midnight (below) develops a rain band directly over eastern Pima County, supporting the forecast.
