Comet NEOWISE

Carl Hergenrother alerted me that comet NEOWISE was visible before sunrise as it rises above the Catalinas. This the brightest comet in seven years and some can see it with the naked eye after sunrise. Two photos below are from this morning. Top shows comet to left of the bright lights from towers on Mt. Bigelow. Second below is shifted west to cut the Bigelow lights out of the image.

After this weekend the comet will shift into the northwestern sky after sunset and gradually rise higher in the sky as next week progresses.
