Morning thunderstorm moving over campus at about 8:30 am MST. This storm rained heavily here for a few minutes and produced 0.25" in the gauge.
Forecast radar echoes (from 12 UTC WRF-NAM) valid at 10:30 am. Observed echoes at 8:30 am below. Good agreement Pima County and southeast of Tucson, occurring bit sooner than the forecast timing (within 2 hours). Second below shows detected CG flashes for 24-hours ending at 9:13 am - note the activity from the very recent storms (pinks to white).
Quite some start to the day for this part of metro area.
