Quick Saturday Morning Update - Lorena
Pre-sunrise view from campus of the Catalinas and some of the city lights (above at about 5:30 am MST).
Above is water vapor image for 5:00 am this morning. Hurricane Lorena (Cat. 1) is now over the GoC moving slowly toward Sonora and southern Arizona. Tropical Storm Mario is now far to the south-southwest of Lorena. The current NHC forecast (below) brings Lorena slowly northward, with her remnants reaching 30 degrees north by early Monday morning.
Below are three NWS early morning forecasts today - for: Green Valley, Yuma, and Phoenix. It is interesting to note that while chances of storms begin today for our general area, storm probabilities don't show up for Yuma, and Phoenix until Sunday night. The highest POPs for rainfall are on Monday Night for Green Valley, reaching 70%. More later this morning.
