Fairly Active Day Yesterday

View above at 3:00 pm MST yesterday. Thunderstorms did not move into the metro area until evening (about 7:30 pm here), much as WRF forecasts had indicated. Storms produced enough rain to help increase dewpoints with moisture recycling - see daily trend below (from NWS).

ALERT reports above for 24-hours ending at 7:00 am this morning. Looks like about half of sites had 0.04" or more. Plot of CG flashes below is for 24-hours ending at midnight last night - 7 reports of more than half an inch (mostly in southern part of network), and 2 sites with more than inch.

Here at house we had 0.39", making it the wettest day so far in July. Other reports: airport had 0.01" but with wind gusts to 53 mph; DM had a Trace; and Atmo recorded 0.09".

There has been enough rainfall and cooling in low-levels to put a damper on activity today - as is often the case.  The current WRf model forecasts indicate a down day for the metro, with only storms over the mountains.
