From Fitzsimmons 2019 calendar for July.
Some thunderstorm activity in eastern Sonora yesterday, but organized MCS was down toward south end of GoC (CG flash plot for 12-hours ending at 05 UTC this morning above from Atmo and Vaisala). Forecast below from 06 UTC WRF-GFS and is for total precipitation through 10:30 am MST on Sunday the 7th - pretty dismal forecast continues.
Time series of GPS PW from campus (above) shows drying here since end of June. However, the model continues to forecast substantial moisture increase by the weekend - forecast below from 06 UTC WRF-GFS (on 5.4 km grid) is for PW at 10:00 am July 7th (Sunday).
Hurricane Barbara is slowly weakening and is forecast (below) to turn even more westward and to approach the Big Island as a Tropical Depression.
